Thanks for the nice wishes, and for asking about our experience.
We had an absolutely great time, and a very memorable honeymoon.
In hindsight, we would rather have flown directly from Cape Town, as it is very tiring travelling almost a full day via Johannesburg. Arriving at the airport, we were greeted by a friendly Thompsons representative with a nice cold bottle of water, and air-conditioned bus which transported us to Pearle Beach.
The reception at the resort was also very warm, with a welcome drink. I must just say that we kind of expected a 'honeymoon basket' in our room, but there was nothing, although one of the other couples (also from SA) who checked in the same evening, received champagne and fruit in their room. Nonetheless, the rooms are very nicely decorated and the air-conditioning was a blessing.
We met with Nathalie - a Thompsons representative at the resort, who was very helpful with what there was to do, and whatever info we needed.
The buffet meals were delicious, and we had a different menu every lunch and dinner. The all inclusive package was great, and we were pleased that we had gone that route.
The resort staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and made us feel right at home.
We didn't do that much sightseeing, as it is such a pleasure just being at the resort with activities such as snorkelling, or going out on the glass bottom boat, beach volley ball etc. Or just having cocktails next to the pool!
However, we did go out on the catamaran to Coconut island. En route, you visit the dolphins, and go snorkelling. The staff on the catamaran went out of their way to make our trip memorable, and it was a great party! (this was recommended and booked by Thompsons - Nathalie)
We also took a taxi to Grand Baie, which is amazingly beautiful, and this being the main tourist destination, has so much activities.
All in all, it was great, and we don't have anything to complain about!
We have attached a few pics, and hope you enjoy them.
Thanks so much for all your help in making our honeymoon special.
Warm regards,
Sanet le Roux

We had the most marvellous time on honeymoon. Sorry I haven't gotten hold of you yet. Last week just flew by in a depressed blur after the honeymoon. :-)
The hotel was lovely and staff really went out of their way to make our time special. Especially Ahmad the guest relations manager. We love him.
The weather was great, and the cyclone never come closer than Roderique island, the Mauritours team were great, the hotel food was lovely... All fabulous! Made me want to get back into travel journalism - something I used to do years ago.
I need to send you your sim card back via docex. Will do so.
Luckily we took out the holiday insurance – thanks for the advice, because we do need to put in a claim! Who do I contact about that?
The other thing I need to chat to you about is a trip we are planning in August. We are going to a wedding in Guernsey on 13 Aug I think. So we thought we would make a trip of it, and go via the Red Sea (Dahab Le Meridien hotel there looks great, I've been looking into that already) and then pressing on to Europe and do the channel islands for the wedding and maybe France.
Thanks again for all your help we had a wonderful time and you were an absolute star.
Oh, and my mother is desperate to do a family holiday to Mauritius in August 2011, for my father’s 70th and my parents 40th wedding anniversary. How far in advance can we book for specials, all-inclusive specials etc? And is it worth it booking way in advance , or is it better to wait for specials to crop up?
Thanks again and chat soon,
Kirsty

Hi Ed
Apologies for the delay, we both jumped into work the minute we got back. Thank you so much for your wishes.
The Wedding was really magical and was even more than we could have wished for. Isabelle and her team at Sugar Beach were fantastic, there was never a no we can't, they were really willing to do anything and everything. Decor and setting was matched to the tee with the pictures I sent through or they found a really close match, from my bouquet to cutlery to baskets on the beach and the ceremony arch. The ceremony and decor and all the details were ideal, I was really happy with how everything looked and with the reception even more so... just perfect. Extra touches like the Sega dances to entertain the guests while we were taking photos and the dance floor on the beach were fabulous. The four course meal... was superb. All the guests as well as Costa and I were in awe of everything and comments heard throughout the day was that it was just perfect and stunning. It really was our dream wedding :o) We are so thrilled and would do it over again in a second.
As for Sugar Beach itself... we loved loved loved EVERYTHING... the staff, the hotel, the beach, the entertainment. I must say what wonderful people work there... so friendly and helpful, we even made friends and it was nice to know that specific staff members even knew us by name. The whole family absolutely loved Sugar Beach and we can't wait to go back again!!! We made use of everything, the gym (modern and stylish), the tennis courts, the spa (divine massages) the hair dresser (very capable ladies and top class products), water sports, the clinic (as Nadia needed contact solution :o), the bars, the restaurants you name it we did it :o) Top star Hotel and fantastic staff members. *****
I will be writing to Sugar Beach, Isabelle and WLH as soon as I have time to thank them again and let them know what a great job they did.
We also managed to go on a Catamaran, organised through White Sand Tours at the hotel. It was awesome ... once again fantastic and friendly crew, delicious BBQ on board and we even spotted Dolphins.
Paradis was also lovely... we really managed to relax and just take all the previous weeks excitement in as we sat back and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Beautiful long stretches of beach and clear warm sea... was a great ending to a fantastic holiday altogether. Wonderful time to spend as a couple in a beautiful and serene setting. We were given a massage treatment as a gift as well as I went for a facial, both were divine! Costa even played 9 holes at the Golf course with me as caddy:o) Beautiful course!
All in all it was an amazing holiday, wedding and honeymoon ... we are all sad that it's over, but it was really unforgettable!!!
Again Ed a huge THANK YOU to you and your team for making our special week possible... We will definitely be recommending you in the future and hopefully be using you again very soon. Thank you thank you :o)
Will be in touch.
Kind regards,
Vanessa and Costa

Thank you for organising our recent trip to Mauritius. Le Victoria was the perfect hotel choice for our family vacation. The kids club is wonderful and gave us some free time to do our own thing, but as it is not full day still got the chance to spend quality time with our kids. The pool was great and big enough so you did not feel crowded however not always able to get a lounger. As for the beach, because the hotel is arranged in large arches people generally sat on the beach by their rooms meaning it was not over crowed and if you liked you could go to the other side of the hotel for some variation. The beach is lovely and you can sit under a thatched umbrella or palm tree while the kids play in the sand. The sand is soft and the only coral is by the water edge. We swam in the sea everyday with out beach shoes and it was not a problem. In fact most people did not have shoes. The water is calm like a lake and warmer than the pool so it is really a piece of heaven. Only complaint is that the kids club was right on the other side of the hotel so next time we will book a room closer to the kids club, although the walking did help considering how much we ate.....
Thanx again,
Daniella

We had a fantastic time in Mauritius! There were some non-perfect situations: we arrived in rain, they didn’t expect us to arrive on that plane, and we had a few days of strong winds and clouds.
That however did not change the beauty of our holiday. We found out that the wind was because of an “anti-cyclone” and after three days it died down to give us perfect weather for the rest of the week. By that time we had done the tours and shopping, so were ready for the beach.
On Sunday we went to Quatre Bornes. There was a clothing market that we went to, but also discovered a mall called Orchard. Here we found the best value clothing for the week. On Monday we walked around in Grand Baie and ate at Happy Rahj, which was the best Indian food we had for the week. On Tuesday we went on the Toumaurico South-West tour to Chamarel coloured earth, waterfall, Rum factory and volcano. Although it was a bit bland, it is necessary for tourists to do. Afterwards we found out that we could have taken a taxi on the same tour for a third of the price (less if you are 3 or 4 people). Wednesday was shopping in Port Louis. Thursday was Il Aux Cerf and probably the best day of the holiday. We did parasailing which is really one of the most beautiful things to experience. Friday we spent at the hotel and did the undersea walk for 900 Rupees per person. This was arguably the most wonderful thing that Talita and I have ever done.
Thanks for helping us have one of the most amazing holidays yet. We will definitely go back to relax in Mauritius and will use Webtours again for it.
Regards,
Malcolm

Thank you very much for your email. We had a wonderful Honeymoon in Mauritius. Our stay at Le Morné was great. The location is perfectly situated for kite surfing and while Rudi enjoyed the outer reef I had top kite surfing instruction in the lagoon by Club Mistral. The transfer company White Sands was great and they assisted us with car hire and a very enjoyable and highly recommendable catamaran cruise. White Sands were very professional and always on time and their staff were excellent. As for the Mornea hotel we stayed at: The dining room and bar service were great so was the cocktails and the food. Their room service was however very bad, with many days we had to phone several times for cleaning of the room and stocking the bar fridge. They basically only made the beds and cleared the garbage in the room. The hotel also seems to be more geared for French tourists and basically only the CNN TV channel was in English.
Apart from this we truly enjoyed the Mauritian hospitality and want to congratulate and thank you for your superb service in making these memories possible.
Yours truly,
Melissa and Rudi Seebach

Just some feedback on our Mauritius holiday for you.
Trou Aux Biches was a great choice.
We where really happy with the location of the hotel. As you told us, the hotel is a little old, but that was not really a problem.
In all, it was just what we where looking for. The hotel and the beach where both quiet.
The one thing that stood out was the staff at the hotel. Really first class service by warm and friendly staff.
I would certainly recommend Trou Aux Biches hotel and Webtours to anyone.
Thanks for all the advice and support.

Last December you arranged for my family and I to stay at the l’Ambre hotel. It was done at such short notice and if it hadn’t been for your superb
attention to detail I am sure we would never have managed to get ‘it’ all together .
Some feedback with regard to the hotel:
It was fine, considering the time of year and our budgetary restrictions. We had a problem with the air conditioners in two of the rooms and although it
could not be resolved, the staff did their absolute level best to try and sort out the problem. Having the choice of different restaurants to eat at was
also rather nice as it gave us some variation.
Money: I would strongly recommend that one takes euros rather than dollars as everything was priced in euros and or the local currency.
We had great fun doing some of the activities suggested by your booklet, such as quad biking, sailing on a catamaran, parasailing and hiring a car to see the other side of the island
And go shopping – a somewhat different experience to what we are used to!
My main reason for contacting you, however, is to thank you for arranging the trip. The guide books you supplied were a great help. The one you put together especially
for us, was fantastic and a lovely touch rarely seen in todays busy world.
Thank you once again, I certainly hope to be calling on your services sometime in the future.
Regards
Heather Maher

Best wishes for 2009 may it bring great prosperity and joy!
We had a great relaxing time - will send photos when I get around to downloading them.
The hotel was reasonable however we had to do a room upgrade as the standard rooms are quite pokey and cramped. Would no have been able to swing the proverbial cat.
We upgraded to a sea facing Deluxe room ( a bit extra but it did make a big difference to our enjoyment of the place). I would recommend to any other people going to the Merville to consider the same.
The food in general was good, dinners where quite nice, however the breakfast buffet was a bit limited but was pretty much as expected.
We enjoyed being in the Gran Baie area - we did plan to go into town for lunch as the centre of town was within walking distance from the hotel but eventually only managed to do this once as the need to veg out was greater than the need to walk around.
We are still considering a trip to Zanzi in the near future (maybe Feb) but need to sort out my work schedule.
I need to do a bit of advanced planning for the end of this year - I turn the big 50 and would like to do something special and possibly
persuade a few friends to come along - so maybe looking for some sort of holiday chalet/villa/cottage with a cook/housekeeper that can accommodate a few people. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Regards
Andrew Caldwell

WE have just arrived back in zambia .
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ORGANISING OUR WONDERFULL HOLIDAY IN MAURITIUS .
we loved troux biches hotel, it was everything we were looking for .
it was so spacious, and the gardens magnificent, the food was good ( we have had better at commores, ) but we couldnt fault any of the food, we stuck mainly to the buffet at night and had the alcarte at lunch which was also excellent, we used to order two different meals and share them at lunch, we managed to have a romantic meal on the jetty one night, lobster and sea food ect .
as i say we cant fault this hotel at all, ( its sad that they are pulling it down and we are looking forward to seeing what they will build in its place .
the only place that you could tell that this hotel needed renovation was in the rooms, they were still lovely but old fashioned and out dated . but still more than comfortable for us, we had a sea facing room set back in the garden , nothing in front of us, but loads of palm trees and then then the beach a few meteres up . the bathroom area was huge .
we had good weather, although very cloudy and water pretty cold, we managed to take the bus into town grand baie quite often .
we also manageg to do a day trip with a mauritian guy , from 7 am to
7 pm, where we covered the whole island in one day , botanical garden , rain forests , indian temples, waterfalls, ect ect. it was an experience .
so yes just wanted to say thank you and it was abosulutely wonderfull, and will send you some pics, when im settle in .
we are thinking of going to zanzibar for december . flying from lusaka to daresalaam . but ill speak to you later about that, we would need an accomadation and flights from daresalaam package only for our family of 6 .
i would have to find out when peak season starts in zanzibar .
Have a great day,
Karen Sesia

It is freezing cold here by us, wish I stayed in Mauritius! Got a nice suntan……
We had a great time, lovely weather, catamaran outings, nice beach days, shopping etc.
As for the self catering …… it wasn’t too bad, but wont recommend it. Mauritius is very expensive to self cater. We were about 6 km from grand bay, had to go by bus to the super u (big grocery store (like pick and pay). A big hassle to get everything to your place.
We thought there would be plenty restaurants close to where we stayed, like walking distance from us, there were maybe 3 or so, but not so good and very expensive, also it was quite a walk in the dark to go at night. We thought it would be something like phuket where you could pick and choose from a variety of restaurants within walking distance from your hotel, but unfortunately not like that at all where we stayed. I think if you go for self catering you have to stay in grand bay, but then you have to travel again to go to the public beaches, which some of them are not very nice, some very dirty and no toilets. Umbrellas and loungers very expensive to hire for the day.
Villas mont choisy I will not recommend, it is old and jikky, pool not to bad. A depressing place. Old, and bathroom and kitchen right next to each other, kitchen so small you cant move.
The second one beach villas were ok, from the stoep you could see the ocean. Also old but clean. They have only the very necessary in the kitchen, and enough ants !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to drive you crazy. O yes and they also forgot our starter pack the first night when we arrived, so we had to go look for something to eat and drink when we arrived there like 10h00 at the villas (that made me very very cross). We only received the starter pack the next day.
The shower pipe was too short, so we had to use it as a handshower, no bath. O yes and the towels and sheets were terrible, like hardboard and very very old. The lawn wasn’t cut, we had to ask them to cut because of the mosquitos. The tumbledrier was also not working in the laundry room, so we had wet beachtowels most of the time. sounds like I am just complaining, but it is better that you know for your next clients.
But we made the best and enjoyed the rest of Mauritius. I think next time we will rather go for a shorter period like 10 days, but definitely hotel. The only nice thing was that when we came back from the catamaran trips, we were quite tired, so there were no rush to get showered and all dressed up for dinner, we could sit and enjoy a drink or two and had plenty of time for showering, etc. went to bed early as there were nothing to do close by, had to take a taxi if we wanted to go to grand bay, and they rip you off.
Moral of the story, don’t go for selfcatering in another country !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! should have listened to you……………to late for tears now.
We find that Thailand is far better and friendly and treat you like a king, I think Mauritius is there just to take your money, they are also not very friendly or helpful. I must say we found it much better 18 years ago.
Anyway, I want to thank you for your good service, will definitely recommend you and will book with you again, maybe you should go teach them in Mauritius !!!!! about service and friendliness.
Maybe our next trip will be better.
Have a great week.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Phuket and Phi Phi and thank you for all the arrangements which were perfect.
I have to say that the Manathai is absolutely stunning. The hotel was even more than what we expected and the staff were brilliant. We were so close to the beach and loads of local restaurants. We hired a car one day and toured the island and Surin beach was by far one of the nicer beaches. Will send you pics as soon as we have finished downloading everything (we have about 800 pics to go through)
The tour operator was waiting for us at Phuket airport when we arrived and gave us ideas on tours etc which was very informative. We did do a day trip on the Island Hopper to a few islands which was great.
Our driver was waiting for us early at the Manathai to depart to the pier to leave for Phi Phi. Once again everything was organised to perfection. We arrived at Phi Phi but were not allowed to check in until after 14h00 but this was not a problem as we roamed around the island exploring the market and grabbing a bite to eat. We also did a day trip on a long tail boat to Phi Phi Ley which was great
I have to say a big thank you for all your organising for a trip which we will never forget. We came back relaxed, suntanned (with quite a few extra freckles) and LOVED phuket and phi phi.
I will definitely be contacting you for our next trip and will most certainly recommend you to friends.
Thank you once again and will send pics shortly.
Lots of love,
Michelle

Thank you for your email, and for remembering my birthday, which I enjoyed very much. I hope this is going to be a very prosperous and happy year for all of you.
The trip was really great!
In Cairo, some days were quite long, because there is a lot packed into each day. We found it incredibly interesting - there is so much history, you actually need double the time so that you can really absorb everything you see and are told. It would probably be a good idea to carry a little notebook so that afterwards you can remember a bit more of the detail.
The traffic in Cairo is absolutely chaotic, and it can take 45 minutes to drive 3km! Driving around cities like Cairo and Alexandria is an education on its own - the saying is that to be a driver in Egypt you need three things - a good hooter, good brakes and darn good luck. The drivers are a law unto themselves - no traffic signs are obeyed, including red lights. Bus drivers make u-turns (by going backwards and forwards 20 times) against oncoming traffic, almost all the cars drive without lights at night, donkey carts and goats share the road with cars and busses, a family of five packed onto a small scooter, all without helmets, is a familiar sight and when pedestrians cross the road, cars and busses simply swerve or slow down. There is no road rage whatsoever, people are patient and considerate.
The Ramses Hilton is very well located and our room on the fourth floor had a lovely view of the Nile. By South African standards I don't believe it would rate as a five star hotel. The foyer is very attractive, and the restaurants we ate at are excellent, but the rooms and bathrooms could definitely be cleaner. We got back one day after the day's outing to find that our room had not even been cleaned. I also found that, because there are no restrictions against smoking inside, the room smelt of stale smoke.
Our reception at the hotel was a bit disappointing - we arrived at about 6am and were taken directly to the hotel. When we got there, we were told that our rooms would only be ready by 12 at the earliest (normally only 2pm). We sat and stood around in the lobby aimlessly until 11am, when we were taken to the museum. By then we were far too tired to take in everything at the museum. I completely understand that rooms have to be prepared, but it might be a good idea if people are given a place to sit down comfortably, and at least offered some refreshment. You can imagine - you feel tired and grubby, you don't know the place, and you're standing around like a lost soul!
The New Years eve gala dinner was quite good, but we waited about 40 minutes for everyone in our group to be seated - they had to move another group first, then shuffle some tables around to seat us. I got the impression that they weren't prepared for us at all, because they kept on consulting their lists, but couldn't find our names. If I had to rate it, including the entertainment (belly dancer and some other traditional dancing), I would say it was a bit amateurish. Please don't think I'm complaining, we still had a lovely evening.
We enjoyed the cruise tremendously. Luxor is very different from Cairo - it's much smaller, has only about half a million inhabitants, and is a typical holiday destination. The sights were also fabulous, and because the pace was slower than in Cairo, we were all relaxed, and it felt more like a holiday.
The Nile Ritz, our cruiser, was lovely. The cabins were a bit small, obviously, but well appointed and much cleaner than the hotel. In fact, the cabins were cleaned twice a day. The food was good and the staff excellent. Of course, alcoholic drinks are ridiculously expensive (being a Muslim country, I suppose). Overall, we loved the cruise experience. There was a cocktail evening, which was very nice, and a traditional evening where we all got dressed up, and we had loads of fun. At the end of the cruise we were taken by boat to see the botanical gardens and the elephantine islands
- very chilled, and a super way to end the tour.
I just want to make a point about the cruise. All of us were under the impression that we would have a 4 day cruise on the Nile, which is not the case. Although you are on board for 4 days, 2 days are spent moored in Luxor. Some cruisers were moored on the West Bank, which is on the town side, and people could get off and go into town. We were on the East Bank, so we couldn't do that. Of course, a lot of the sights are in Luxor, and you need that time there, but then it should be made clear that only 2 days are spent actually cruising. As it stands it's a bit misleading.
Our tour leader, Gigi, is brilliant. She is very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot from her beside the general blah-blah. She was extremely well organized and made sure all our needs were catered for. For example, she arranged for us to go on a hot air balloon and took us to ride camels. Unfortunately one woman had her bag stolen on the last day, and tried to imply that it was somehow Gigi's fault, because she had 'rushed' them, but that is absolute rubbish. She couldn't have been more accommodating. A guy called Hashim met us at the airport, and saw us off again. He was also very helpful.
Shopping in Egypt is an experience that I personally hated. The traders in the markets are aggressive and they don't leave you alone for one second. Nev and I went to one market, hated it because people are like flies around you, and didn't go to another one. Gigi arranged visits to a whole range of factories / shops: for carpets, alabaster, leather, papyrus, perfume, kartouches, and cotton. She did this so that everyone could buy what they wanted without being harassed, but there is no shop in Egypt where you don't feel swamped and under pressure. Some of the group felt that she probably got a kick-back from the places she took us to, and a few believed that you could get far better deals from the markets, if you were prepared to haggle. In fact, quite a few people bought stuff from the markets at far lower prices. Gigi warned us that people often buy inferior stuff there. So, who knows what the real story is?
We were also very fortunate to be with a great group of people. We've even swopped contact details with some of them.
Overall, an absolutely wonderful experience, which I highly recommend. Thank you so much for arranging it for us.
So there - you asked for a 'few comments' and got an essay - sorry if it's a bit ott.
Kind Regards,
Lyn

Thanks for the welcome back - obviously we would prefer to still be enjoying the Mauritian beaches.
The trip was excellent - everything went off perfectly . No complaints at all the transfers to the hotel etc where 100%.
The hotel was very nice (seems it is fairly new) - its a fairly small hotel which was great no huge queues at the buffet table or having to squabble to get a lounger on the beach. Would definitely recommend the hotel although it is suited more for adults rather than a family.
As for pictures - will send you a few once I have downloaded them onto the computer - but there is nothing glamorous about fat people showing off their puffy sunburnt skin ;-)
As for your service - I was very happy with your service and will recommend you to friends and family. Will definitely use you again. Hopefully this year Ill do better planning and not call you at the last moment.
Many Thanks,
Andrew Caldwell

Yes it was wonderful, I can say it over and over..
Feedback is always difficult as you do not want to step on anybodies toes, but I suppose on the other hand if you do not get constructive feedback you can not improve…
Webtours – Service great, always friendly and willing to listen to all ideas. Maybe just more regular updates, you go quiet sometimes, and if you are out of town (Durban) it is reassuring to get a message/ update regularly, especially after payment’s been made…
Kinasi Lodge – One of the best we have stayed in ever. Service, venue, laid back, diving etc. must be some of the best in the world!! I do know why (power) but a/c would not be a bad idea…
Swahili Resort – Very friendly, helpful hosts, diving was also very good (not Mafia, but far above our dives in EL). The only thing missing is ambiance (especially dining room) with no theme, walls empty and the table clothes etc. needs attention… I know it is a new resort and I am sure they will remedy it ..
We are easy people to please..
Speak soon about Madagascar!!
Again thx for all your help with an unforgettable holiday!
Kindest Regards

Hi Everyone,
All the best for 2008 to you and your families!
We made the best of it, but it was really not a nice resort and I would not recommend it to anybody.
I will try and list a few of the downfalls re this particular resort. The water is extremely murky - maybe because it is so close to the main island. The concrete walls that they put up, obviously to try and calm the waves, spoilt the entire scenery. My husband re-named it and called it the airport hotel, as you have huge planes taking off and landing every half hour.
I must admit though that the rooms were very nice and very modern and spacious. The dinner in the evening was very good although the breakfast was horrible.
If I compare this island to Meeru, which is a lower star rate, there is really no comparison. At Meeru, every night for instance, they would come and do the turn-down and end up doing your names or something wonderful on the bed with flowers and leaves. The staff were also very reserved and not really mixing or talking with the guests.
We met another South African couple there the one morning, who came after spending one week at Kurumathi to spend the next week at Full Moon and he insisted on going back and not staying at Full Moon and left the same afternoon. Then we met a few couples from England who shared our feelings and will definately not return in future.
To get back to your services, your ground handlers, etc. they were excellent and nothing could be done any better than they did. We actually ended up leaving Full Moon two days earlier, found place in a Hotel in Male and spend the last two days there.
We are now thinking of going back in December 2008 to Meeru but taking the kids along. I still call them kids but they are actually grown-ups. We can stay in the Water Villas and they can share a room (3 of them) in a Land Villa. Seeing that the flights are so expensive flying direct, we can look at the option of going via Dubai. We can stay for approximately 10 nights and only depart after 20th December.
I will definately send you some pics which you can look at.
Once again, many thanks for assisting us at such short notice.
Kindest Regards
Renette

| Hi Ed,
We had a fabulous time. The hotel was lovely, the beaches are soft, white, and very clean, the water is crystal clear as far as you can see. And the rum kicked ass!
We are definately going back there this December, but this time for two weeks- 7 days at Indian Resort, and 7 days at Le Preskil perhaps.
I'll send you some pics a little later.

| Hi Edwina,
When we got home today and the travel kit was lying on the table waiting for us, Diana and I were so excited we opened a bottle of JC, Diana doesn't drink so that should speak volumes :)
The Travel kit was wonderful; we love the bags and the fantastic Seychelles books you included. Funny enough we have been looking around for Seychelles books and have found none at two different Exclusive books stores in Cape Town not to mention lacking stock at Wordsworth books stores. So as you can imagine you have made us both very happy about that little bonus. Diana told me to tell you she loves the handmade travel book that contains all the goodies. To give you some feedback we both felt the kit was very personal and exciting to look through.
Oh my word we are both so excited now :)
Just wanted to again say thank you to you and your team for ur super help and awesome service. Diana and I will email pictures once we are back and tell you about it.
Was considering giving you a call earlier this evening but I am sure you guys are as busy as we are, if not, more so. Hope all the best for Christmas time and the New Year to come.
We will be in contact I am sure.
Regards
Rory and Diana

Dear Edwina and Sharmaine,
I have been meaning to write since returning – but been very hectic!
Coconut Village was wonderful – excellent value for money. It was definitely the best option for us out of the Plan Hotels. Tropical Village is much bigger, grander, busier and VERY Italian. All waiters, signs announcements etc are in Italian.
Coconut was very clean, brilliant staff – what was particularly good that it was relatively empty which made it very peaceful and quiet. I imagine when it is full it is not nearly as relaxing. I think it is the perfect place to go if you are in a group or with family. I think if you are on your own or wanted more entertainment and action Tropical is better.
The Beach and all facilities at Coconut were amazing. And the food was unbelievable, so much variety and at each meal some special fish or seafood.
For future guests if may be worth warning them that in order to get the use of the beach towels and the safe in the rooms you need to pay a deposit in US$. Although you get this back when you leave it does mean some of your spending money is tied up in the deposit. The towels were $20 each and the safe key was $60 so if you are a big party a good few $100s are not available to spend. After discussing this problem with the reception they allowed me to use my credit card for the deposit – but this was after a few days of anxiety as to how I was going to pay for things.
Also laundry is not included in the all inclusive package, which did not really matter as it was not necessary.
KQ staff in Or Tambo insisted we check out luggage through to Malindi. I argued with them as I was sure we had to collect it in Nairobi- but they allowed me to believe them that they must know better. They were wrong and we almost lost luggage along the way as we were not expecting to get it in Nairobi as it had Malindi tags on. I have written to Kenya Airways in JHB as I was really angry that they advised us so incorrectly.
We traveled to Watamu which is about 30 minutes from Malindi. The beaches there are really spectacular. I was wondering if Webtours offers any packages to Watamu? The hotel we had lunch at was called Ocean Sports and has recently got new management. They were very keen to explore the SA market. You may want to contact them on their Website. Ocean Sports is less commercial than the bigger hotels and caters for lots of Kenyans. Also very beautiful, relaxed and excellent food. Good for deap sea fishing and scuba diving.
Thanks so much for all the help – We would certainly go back to Coconut Village and would definitely use Web Tours again.
Hope you have a good break over the festive season.
Warm regards,
Kate

Hi Edwina,
Thanks for organizing a great honeymoon. We really had a wonderful time in Thailand. We saw a lot of beautiful places and really did a lot of fun stuff.
Everything went according to plan without any hassles. Both places where we stayed were really great. Phuket had all the shopping and cultural things to do while Phi Phi was just an Island where we could rest and do sight seeing.
Even though the weather wasn’t the best we really had a great time. I sent you a few photos to see what we did.
Thanks again for everything

Hi Ed,
Amazing, amazing, amazing is all we can say about our trip. It was absolutely wonderful!!!. To discribe our trip would not do it any justice. We were spoilt from the begining to end.
Cottars was fantastic with the most amazing views of the planes. We think it is surely the most beautiful accommodation in the Mara with the best staff. Their guides are truely the best in the world and they can really can be proud of them - making it a truely memorable stay. The food was 5
star+. We could not have asked for any better.
Kiwayu - well untouched paradise of note! It is breathtaking!! Once arriving you actually stand still and look around to take in the beauty of the surroundings. Food top class - consist of seafood. We had crayfish, lobster, oysters, mussels, fish....in abundance. We were spoilt with a picnic lunch on a nearby island with our own butler waiting on us hand and food to serve us with drinks and prepare our lobester lunch!!! Our accommodation is 2 steps away from the sea and truely beautiful - you lie in bed and look at the ocean!
Ed and Alan, we would like to thank you both for all the effort you put into arranging an amazing, memorable and special trip for us. Words are not enough. From beginning to end we were taken care of like royality with no detail spared. We have already started planning our next trip to Kiwayu in April with our daughters and friends - will be in touch.
Thank you, thank you for making our 25th wedding anniversary special - we will always treasure the memory.
Best regards ,
Hennie and Cathy Pauley

| Hi Edwina,
What a disaster!! Flights were booked wrong, wrong car and hotel room was facing the busy street!!
No seriously we had an excellent weekend away! Everything worked out better as planned.
The hotel was excellent and they had the bottle of “champagne” on ice as requested.
We went for light dinner Friday night after the flight and drive to Knysna. The flight was full both ways as normal, but we expected that :-)
Then Saturday was a sunny and fine day the best weather actually to walk around and explore. So we explored Knysna and went to the beach at Sedgefield were we had oysters and Moët & Chandon Champagne.
That night again we dinned out at one of the restaurants at the Quays – Excellent!
Sunday morning we woke up as it RAINED outside, so we stayed in bed until we were basically forced out by our hunger pains to go and have a breakfast.
Some photographs from weekend away.
Thank you for the effort in accommodating my request on such short notice. I will definitely make use of your service again and recommend you to my friends.
Cheers,

| Hi Edwina,
Just getting back to you after our trip to Zanzibar. Lovely island and
lovely people. Stone Town was intriguing. We had a local guide who took us
round for nearly 3 hours. Very nice guy , very informative and very polite.
We would recommend him to anyone. We found the outskirts of Stone Town very dirty and squalid, far worse than I expected. The hotel was disappointing.
Rather run down with not particularly helpful staff. When discussing this
with the guide he did say that it had a bit of a bad reputation and that the management was continually changing, which could have been the problem.
We should have probably gone with the one you suggested. Ocean Paradise was very good. The staff there were always cheerful and helpful and the food was good, the buffet changing every night. They even did a near normal breakfast buffet at 5 am for the early leavers. Walking on the beach could be a bit of a problem though with the beach boys always trying to sell or beg from you.
The only real problem was our driver who transferred us from Ocean Paradise
to the airport. He constantly drove on the wrong side of the road, including going round right hand bends where he could not see oncoming traffic. Also agood part of the journey was spent going through the villages where children were walking to school and people were walking to work and he drove far too
fast in these situations. Most of the time he was on his cell phone.
Numerous times he tried to overtake when there was not enough room to do so
and I mean literally having to stop and abandon the manoeuvre. Both Barbara
and myself made him aware of our concerns regarding his driving and I
advised him that he was so bad that I felt it necessary to report him to
Zantours. My personal opinion is that he is not safe enough to carry
holidaymakers in the vehicle and is an accident waiting to happen. He was
also non communicative at the outset (before all the problems started) and
certainly did not represent Zantours favourably. In contrast the driver who
collected us from the airport and also transferred us from Stone Town to
Ocean Paradise was polite and informative and drove safely. With regard to the incident with the driver are you able to pass our complaint to Zantours or do you want to let me have their contact details
Thanks for all your efforts in putting the whole package together. We know where to come to next time.
Cheers,
Brian

| Hi Ed,
Just a quick note to say thank you. We had a really great time at Dinarobin. Great service and the staff really spoiled us. I am already missing the place. We only had two mishaps, first being that the driver to take us to the restaurant only collected us an hour and a half after they were meant to come and collect us and took 3 calls to eventually collect us. But it was rare and they could not stop apologizing to us, so it really was just one of those things. Then our flight only got in at 1AM this morning was delayed leaving the airport. But otherwise it was awesome, we never wanted for a single thing, may have to go on diet after all that food though ;o)
From the bottom of our hearts thank you for all your assistance, you were superb in helping us. I am already referring you to all I know. We will definitely use you again when we need to make our next travel arrangements. Will probably be early next year or this December.
I have tried to attach some pics for you. But it is not allowing me to send too many at once. I will cut a disc for you and send them to you. Thanks once again.
Kind Regards,

| Hi Edwina
Hope you are well!
Where do I start. What a wonderful time we had! Zanzibar was beautiful. Thank you for all your good advice and tips - they all came in very handy.
Mapenzi Beach lodge was the best place ever! We had a great time there. I've met people on the airport in Zanzibar on our way back who stayed at Karafu Hotel - they weren't impressed at all. (Just a tip for your future customers). Mapenzi - the staff was so friendly (actually everyone in Zanzibar), the food was wonderful (great variety) and every night something traditional (from South Africa) if you do not like their food. It was a good option to take the All Inclusive option. It was very hot, humid and you do need a lot to drink - so all drinks were included in our quote. The people from Karafu said they got a bill at the end of their 5 day stay for R5 000 for drinks and extras!
What was also nice was the fact that Mapenzi had a different theme every night, etc. casino night, Africa night, dinner on the beach, cocktails at the beach, beach party at neighbouring lodge. They went through a lot of effort to entertain the guests.
The trip to Stonetown was a real shocker! But we were very glad that we went to see it. The people are so so poor, you won't believe it. A tip that I would have liked is the fact that all the kids ask for sweets or a pen and I forgot to take any of that sort of goodies.
We went stopped at almost all the other hotels in Stonetown. They were all very nice, but in the end I was so glad that we decided to stay at one lodge and not at a hotel in Stonetown. There's not much to do at night in Stonetown itself.
In stead of taking an arranged tour with the hotel, we took a tour with one of the beach boys. That was much more interesting and worth every cent.
We went snorkelling at Mnemba Island - what an experience (my first time). I had the amazing experience to swim with the dolphins. So there's no need to go all the way down to Kazimkazi in the South to swim with the dolphins. You ALWAYS see the dolphins when you go snorkelling at Mnemba Island. Apparently some people who did go to Kazimkazi on a day trip had very bad luck, their boat overturned, cameras got lost in the sea, etc. (It was a very stormy and windy day).
The sunset cruise was awesome. I will send you a few pics as soon as I get to know how that works!
My video camera got stolen on JHB. Fortunately my insurance covered that! Please recommend to people that they must have their bags "bubble wrapped".
In the meantime, thank you so much for your contribution to our wonderful holiday. It was worth every penny!
Enjoy your weekend. I sincerely hope that I can arrange my next trip to a "new destination" very soon!!!
Regards,
Sonja

Just a word of advise for future holiday makers to Mauritius, especially those going to "Le Victoria", don't make eye contact with the beach vendors because once you do, you can guarantee that your shopping bags will be full and your wallet empty! What can one person do with 8 sarongs, 5 pashmina's and a jewellery box full of pearls - ha, ha!
Seriously, we had a wonderful time and our next holiday will be booked through you and your team.

Hi
So I'm back from honeymoon and just thought I'd take some time out to mail you. Kenya was wonderful - an absolutely great experience! Thank you very much for your assistance with putting everything together for us!
It was amazing! The people are friendly and helpful. Although we were strapped for cash (being honeymooners!!) we made the most of what we could do - the scuba diving was amazing and awesome, the visit to the craft market was eye-opening and intriguing, the walk to the Reptile Park was fun and exciting, the weather was sultry and made the whole honeymoon / romantic experience all the more worthwhile! The hotel was great (although, I must add, working in a 5-star hotel has made me a bit of a "hotel snob" ;-)) but the activities were boundless, the food was terrific and the people were 5-star quality! We received a bottle of sparkling wine during our first dinner, massages and great service!
So my first visit to another African country has been an overall wonderful experience, bar the initial frustrations! So thank you again - I have attached some pics for you!
Enjoy!
Hope you and all at Webtours have an awesome festive season and a blessed New Year!
Best Regards,
Letishia Charles

I just wanted to thank you for arranging the trip to Zanzibar for Aneen and myself. We had the most wonderful time.
Mtoni Marine was fantastic and really beautiful.
Kwenda Amaan..what can I say? Although the accommodation was the most basic, the staff and especially the front desk man/owner/manager was out of this world. Always asking if we needed something, if there is anything they can do etc. etc. The restaurant also offered the widest selection at the most reasonable prices. Loved the snorkelling and Ngunwi. Sunsets are magnificent.
Dhow Palace – an excellent idea to be so close to the airport on the last night.
If we had to do this over, we would spend a lot more time at Kwenda or any of the resorts up the North Coast. There is so much more to do etc.
People always tell you about the beaches, the sunsets and all the beautiful things, but never about how poor and really third world the people of Zanzibar is. This experience left me so grateful for the things we have. I am humbled by their friendliness.
Thank you again for everything you did.
Kindest regards
Mari and Aneen Human
