Dear Ed and the Webtours Team,
Thanks for all of your efforst in putting together our holiday, we enjoyed every moment of it !!!
Everything worked out perfectly and the operators on either side didnt drop a stitch
The Safari club was very comfortable and flight with 1Time pleasant. The Regional air flights were very comfortable as well..we almost made a detoour to Kili International but touched down just before sunset...the airport was locked when we landed but all the transfers were waiting on the other side
The Serena lodges are great, comfortable, good food and very professional...the Mountain Lodge in Arusha was more like a 5 star lodge..Ngorongoro was full of game, we saw hyena, jackal, a serval cat and lion in the first 5 minutes..the guide Umbeni deserves special mention...he really went out of his way to show us everything with detailed explanations...The Serengeti was dry, but stunning...although they say the best time is April and May as the animals graze around and one does not have to search too much...we still saw herds of elephant, giraffe and zebras, at least 2 doz lion and 3 leopard..up close too...apparently the best time for the migration is may...we saw the tail end of it as they moved into the northern corridor
Lake Manyara was very lush, very different from the vegetation in the serengeti...the hotel there too was just great
Zanzibar was absulutely stunning, we really enjoyed the spice and stonetown tours...but the hotel was a tropical paradise...beaches like they are in the brochure; like walking on talcum powder and the waters crystal clear..snorkelling an tube rides were great fun...the meals were decadent, and at times we were happy to just have the pizza options...L Gemm areally has something for everyone....I enjoyed awlking along the beach and browsing at the stalls of the locals..and even had a massage there as the spa at the hotel was shockingly expensive 70 E !!!!
All in all a wonderful holiday....will ceratily be sending other family and frineds in your direction
will mail the pics once I pluck up the courage to download them
take care and thanks once again

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Zanzibar. We were happy at both resorts but if we had to choose, we would vote Mchanga as our favourite.
Mchanga's small size provides a very personal and intimate atmosphere. We loved the early morning coffee and biscuits that were brought to our chalet each day. Food was exceptional and definitely had a Swahili flavour. Loved feeling the soft beach sand under our feet: from the chalet you step onto beach sand and even the dining room is situated on beach sand. The owners and staff were friendly and readily available. We felt that the beaches at Mchanga were better than at the Safari Lodge. Even at high tide, a person can go for long walks at Mchanga. Far less sea weed, too. The only drawback at Mchanga is that the "patio's" outside the chalets lacked privacy but we did get used to it. The sea view from the chalets is a partial sea view and not a full sea view as we had from our front row chalet at Safari lodge. Hope that this info will help your other clients.
We have attached photo's of our "moon" view from our chalet at Safari; the sea view from our Mchanga chalet and our Mchanga chalet.
We received your book on Zanzibar yesterday. It is beautiful and will be a lovely memento of our trip. Thank you very much.
Many thanks for arranging our trip and for your patience. We will definitely recommend your good service to our friends.
Regards
Maria and Vincent

WE LOVED IT!!! The whole experience was amazing – I LOVE Zanzi! Ocean Paradise is really one of the better hotels on the island I think – and they have great on site medical assistance (resident doctor and all the medication administered to me was for free – I picked up a kidney infection and needed antibiotics)
Tony has some lovely pics, so we’ll send a couple through sometime (I don’t have them on my pc yet).
We also really enjoyed the book you gave us – thank you! Oh – and Tony has a great contact for 4x4 rentals (we only paid $35 per day) which is a really great way to explore the island (and have sundowners at all the different resorts) – perhaps some other clients would be interested in doing this too? The island is really easy to navigate (except at night – but we won’t go there! All part of the adventure)
Thanks to you and your team for organizing a really awesome honeymoon for us!
Take care and we’ll be in touch again.

I just want to thank you for everything. We had a stunning time. Everything worked out perfectly. We enjoyed every moment and Karafuu is a stunning hotel. The people are friendly and very helpful. What amazes me most was the fact that no one took anything from anyone else. We put our camera and some personal belongings on our towels next to the swimming pool and went to swim in the sea. When you came back after two hours or so, everything was still where you left it.
We booked a trip with the agent in the hotel (Mohamed) which was better and cheaper than the one that we could book through Exotic tours. They were very expensive. We went to swim with the dolphins (amazing) and then we went to a sandbank in the middle of the sea to snorkel (even more amazing) while the guides made us some lunch (crayfish, fish and lots of fruit). We also went to Stone Town one afternoon. We bought some gifts there. That was also amazing and a must.
We had perfect weather. The wind was blowing everyday, but that was very nice. We also had some clouds every day, but that was also nice, because when the sun shines it burns like hell. We appreciated the wind and the clouds. It never rains. The evening entertainment was also stunning and very nice.
We therefore really enjoyed it and will recommend your services and the Karafuu hotel to anyone. The only thing that we really would like to do is to spend one night in Stone town. Maybe you can include that in your packages. That would be amazing.
Thanks again for everything and I will definitely contact you when we plan our next trip.
Kind regards,
Esta Theron

Yes it was wonderful, I can say it over and over..
Feedback is always difficult as you do not want to step on anybodies toes, but I suppose on the other hand if you do not get constructive feedback you can not improve…
Webtours – Service great, always friendly and willing to listen to all ideas. Maybe just more regular updates, you go quiet sometimes, and if you are out of town (Durban) it is reassuring to get a message/ update regularly, especially after payment’s been made…
Kinasi Lodge – One of the best we have stayed in ever. Service, venue, laid back, diving etc. must be some of the best in the world!! I do know why (power) but a/c would not be a bad idea…
Swahili Resort – Very friendly, helpful hosts, diving was also very good (not Mafia, but far above our dives in EL). The only thing missing is ambiance (especially dining room) with no theme, walls empty and the table clothes etc. needs attention… I know it is a new resort and I am sure they will remedy it ..
We are easy people to please..
Speak soon about Madagascar!!
Again thx for all your help with an unforgettable holiday!
Kindest Regards
Peet

Hi Edwina,
Just getting back to you after our trip to Zanzibar. Lovely island and lovely people. Stone Town was intriguing. We had a local guide who took us round for nearly 3 hours. Very nice guy , very informative and very polite.
We would recommend him to anyone. We found the outskirts of Stone Town very dirty and squalid, far worse than I expected. The hotel was disappointing.
Rather run down with not particularly helpful staff. When discussing this with the guide he did say that it had a bit of a bad reputation and that the management was continually changing, which could have been the problem.
We should have probably gone with the one you suggested. Ocean Paradise was very good. The staff there were always cheerful and helpful and the food was good, the buffet changing every night. They even did a near normal breakfast buffet at 5 am for the early leavers. Walking on the beach could be a bit of a problem though with the beach boys always trying to sell or beg from you.
The only real problem was our driver who transferred us from Ocean Paradise
to the airport. He constantly drove on the wrong side of the road, including going round right hand bends where he could not see oncoming traffic. Also agood part of the journey was spent going through the villages where children were walking to school and people were walking to work and he drove far too
fast in these situations. Most of the time he was on his cell phone. Numerous times he tried to overtake when there was not enough room to do so and I mean literally having to stop and abandon the manoeuvre. Both Barbara and myself made him aware of our concerns regarding his driving and I advised him that he was so bad that I felt it necessary to report him to Zantours. My personal opinion is that he is not safe enough to carry holidaymakers in the vehicle and is an accident waiting to happen. He was also non communicative at the outset (before all the problems started) and certainly did not represent Zantours favourably. In contrast the driver who collected us from the airport and also transferred us from Stone Town to Ocean Paradise was polite and informative and drove safely. With regard to the incident with the driver are you able to pass our complaint to Zantours or do you want to let me have their contact details
Thanks for all your efforts in putting the whole package together. We know where to come to next time.
Cheers,
Brian

Hi Edwina
Hope you are well!
Where do I start. What a wonderful time we had! Zanzibar was beautiful. Thank you for all your good advice and tips - they all came in very handy.
Mapenzi Beach lodge was the best place ever! We had a great time there. I've met people on the airport in Zanzibar on our way back who stayed at Karafu Hotel - they weren't impressed at all. (Just a tip for your future customers). Mapenzi - the staff was so friendly (actually everyone in Zanzibar), the food was wonderful (great variety) and every night something traditional (from South Africa) if you do not like their food. It was a good option to take the All Inclusive option. It was very hot, humid and you do need a lot to drink - so all drinks were included in our quote. The people from Karafu said they got a bill at the end of their 5 day stay for R5 000 for drinks and extras!
What was also nice was the fact that Mapenzi had a different theme every night, etc. casino night, Africa night, dinner on the beach, cocktails at the beach, beach party at neighbouring lodge. They went through a lot of effort to entertain the guests.
The trip to Stonetown was a real shocker! But we were very glad that we went to see it. The people are so so poor, you won't believe it. A tip that I would have liked is the fact that all the kids ask for sweets or a pen and I forgot to take any of that sort of goodies.
We went stopped at almost all the other hotels in Stonetown. They were all very nice, but in the end I was so glad that we decided to stay at one lodge and not at a hotel in Stonetown. There's not much to do at night in Stonetown itself.
In stead of taking an arranged tour with the hotel, we took a tour with one of the beach boys. That was much more interesting and worth every cent.
We went snorkelling at Mnemba Island - what an experience (my first time). I had the amazing experience to swim with the dolphins. So there's no need to go all the way down to Kazimkazi in the South to swim with the dolphins. You ALWAYS see the dolphins when you go snorkelling at Mnemba Island. Apparently some people who did go to Kazimkazi on a day trip had very bad luck, their boat overturned, cameras got lost in the sea, etc. (It was a very stormy and windy day).
The sunset cruise was awesome. I will send you a few pics as soon as I get to know how that works!
My video camera got stolen on JHB. Fortunately my insurance covered that! Please recommend to people that they must have their bags "bubble wrapped".
In the meantime, thank you so much for your contribution to our wonderful holiday. It was worth every penny!
Enjoy your weekend. I sincerely hope that I can arrange my next trip to a "new destination" very soon!!!
Regards,
Sonja

Hello,
I just wanted to thank you for arranging the trip to Zanzibar for Aneen and myself. We had the most wonderful time.
Mtoni Marine was fantastic and really beautiful.
Kwenda Amaan..what can I say? Although the accommodation was the most basic, the staff and especially the front desk man/owner/manager was out of this world. Always asking if we needed something, if there is anything they can do etc. etc. The restaurant also offered the widest selection at the most reasonable prices. Loved the snorkelling and Ngunwi. Sunsets are magnificent.
Dhow Palace – an excellent idea to be so close to the airport on the last night.
If we had to do this over, we would spend a lot more time at Kwenda or any of the resorts up the North Coast. There is so much more to do etc.
People always tell you about the beaches, the sunsets and all the beautiful things, but never about how poor and really third world the people of Zanzibar is. This experience left me so grateful for the things we have. I am humbled by their friendliness.
Thank you again for everything you did.
Kindest regards
Mari and Aneen Human
