Travelling Egypt Solo

By on August 1, 2017

I have arrived in Cairo! First thing on the to do list (doubling as my bucket list) is to see the Pyramids of Giza. Never have I experienced a high temperature like this, so to me the 43 degrees feels like a heatwave!

The hotel I stayed at – Oasis, did not have free Wi-Fi, so I had to wait until I got to the ship where I eventually bought Wi-Fi for $15 – only valid for 24 hours!

I went on an excursion to a local market by horse and carriage – another tick on my list! I also had the amazing opportunity to experience a light and sound show, where you are unfortunately not allowed to film.

Headed into the mountains, where we went to see the tombstone of the ancient kings. Had to make an early start though, as it was extremely hot, over 40 degrees.
The day trip to the mountains was filled with history, Archaeologists are still excavating even today, so it is understandable that no cameras were allowed as flash photography destroys the original colours of the hieroglyphic.

I highly recommend the Nile cruise to anyone looking to visit Egypt!

Thank you for such a lovely holiday Polly, I will definitely contact you again to arrange another amazing trip!
